Map Creation and Modification

Introduction #

This is one of the most important modules to the admin who is setting up the jewelry/diamond products inventory for the ring builder. By effectively using this module this task becomes really easier for admin and it helps in saving a lot of time and money.

How does it work?  #

Mapping modules help in connecting ring setting mounts to diamond items based on the shape of the diamond and carat weight sizes that a particular ring setting mount can fit. A detailed example is given below after the end of the “Second field”.

(Note: Example given here is for the advanced scenario, for your website it can be more simple or a little different one also.)

Here is a brief example, let’s say if you have the requirement to map ring mounts/settings that can fit round shape diamonds of size from 0.5 to 1.25 carat. For that, please follow the given steps:

Step-1: Now, what you need to do is create a ring mount category with the name “Ring Mounts for 0.5 to 1.25 ct Round Diamonds”.

Step-2: Add this category to such applicable ring mounts.

Step-3: Add a mapping entry in this module, wherein the First category selects the category you created (“Ring Mounts for 0.5 to 1.25 ct Round Diamonds”).

Step-4: Now in the second category enables the range checkbox.

Step-5: Then select the Round shape category or attribute (whichever is created for Round diamonds).

Step-6: Lastly, in the two ranges select options to set the round range from 0.5 to 1.2. (that’s all).

Similarly, you can add more entries for the other shapes with different size criteria for the same mount category.

Discount  #

This field is useful in case when you want to offer discounts means generate offers on certain kinds of combinations of ring mounts. Value in this field will be used to generate a “Discount Offer” based on these mapping rules. The value will be treated as a percentage of total item amounts.
